The extended tsuka (handle) and longer, thicker 29-inch Performance Series blade deliver superior balance and control, ideal for multiple cuts on standard tameshigiri targets. Forged from 1566 high-carbon steel, the blade features an improved polish for a refined aesthetic and enhanced performance compared to other Practical Series swords.
The tsuka is wrapped in genuine samegawa (ray skin) and tightly bound with black cotton ito, double-pegged for maximum durability. The deep black lacquered saya is paired with a black Japanese cotton sageo, ensuring elegance in both display and practice.
The katana’s Kuruma tsuba depicts the “Wheel of Dharma,” symbolizing the Buddhist Noble Eightfold Path—a powerful representation of discipline and mastery.
